Elaine Gloodt had an incredible ability to see the humorous side of politics and situations and when her pens and ink hit the paper… many would smile and often times her artwork would encourage the viewer to dig deeper into the topic and see a new perspective. Elaine was a contributing political editorial cartoonist to three Carmel area papers: The Carmel Valley Sun, the Monterey Herald, and the Pine Cone (no longer in operation). While the work was tedious - her words, the end results were humorous with some of her cartooning still holding statements years later.
